Doctoring digital photos is easy.
Detecting it can be hard

Info from Simao Campos about an interesting article that he read on the (engineering) IEEE Spectrum Magazine, "Seeing Is Not Believing".. about ways to recognize manipulation ("doctoring") of digital pictures.

Results of 'Team Challenge' Event

We have just had our Photo ' Team Challenge ' last Sunday, 14th June 2009 organized by our club, for the club members and their families which ended with a Picnic.

The Photo Team Challenge is like ‘Amazing Race’.. if you know the show?!? Each team will be given instructions to execute and earn points on their way to the next clue until the end of the race. The only difference with our challenge is that they don’t travel around the world but just in and around the site, which was at the Museum Naturel Histoire, Malagnou. The first time the event was held, was at Bois de la Batie.

Among the photo skills that they were tested are :
- the art of seeing
- looking for and capturing the subjects rapidly
- composition
- creativity
- taking pictures in different light situations
- making photo story
- team work

These skills are tested in different kinds of challenges - where timing is also a main factor.

This event is not only to test each person's photography skill and dicipline but gives the opportunity to get to know the other members, strengthen their relationship, develop teamwork and learn photo skills in a fun way. That was the aim of the Photo Team Challenge. We even found out that " TARZAN " is in Geneva now.. hahahaaa..

There were 16 participants devided into 3 groups, and the winning position is :
1st Blue Team :
Jean Marie Mc Adams, Didier Christinaz, Henri Spagnolo, William Effah, Anita Mensah
2nd Red Team :
A A Gede Trisna K, Indah Savitri, Harun, Rudi Frakarsa, Achmad Suyanto
3rd Yellow Team :
Ivan Babovic, Moose Babovic, Tina Sutriesno, Dhony Sutriesno, Yasmin Afina, Hana Harun

Thank you so much for everyone who has participated. We are sure that you all enjoyed the process of the team challenges and the results are all excellent and wonderful. See you again next year, and hoping for more participants !

Photo results can be found at : Photo Team Challenge

Have a very nice vacation to all ! Enjoy your sunny days and don't forget to take photos during your holidays for the next PHOTO COMPETITION! To be announced.. soon !

Worlds Largest Photography Project Ever

Hi there,

We have had a few photographers and clubs suggest I contact other photography clubs and professionals in your country also and see if you could assist us in inviting your friends, your club members or readers to be part of the Largest Photography Project ever to be undertaken.

Project "Once Click One Pic"

Have a look at www.heapfo.com/oneclickonepic.htm for all the details. BE PART OF SOMETHING HUGE.

Don’t forget to let others know about the project too. Share this information on Facebook, Youtube, Gmail, MySpace and all other networks. Anyone that can shoot across a boarder into a neighbouring country (only if its free for you to do so) would be helpful also. This way we can get even more coverage.

Also if you have a logo please send it to us so we can add you to our “Heapformation” page as a supporter of the project.

If you are a professional photographer or club and wish us to put your logo up on our site please send it to us with your link. Would love to promote you as well.

One last thing to which is really cool. I have received confirmation from SPOT Imaging Services who own 3 satellites – SPOT 2, SPOT 4 and SPOT 5 and have graciously offered to take a photo from up there for us.

We are also looking for people to help me make this project a success, so if your interested please let me know.

Its free to be part of this exciting project.

Hope your able to join the project.

Thanks

Gaven
